After announcing the release of the magazine, Giani Gurbachan Singh addressed the Sikh Sangat congregation, “Publication of the Punjabi magazine possesses immense importance as Guru Angad Dev ji, second Guru of the Sikhs, provided the linguistic mechanism of the Punjabi language, formed the first systematic alphabet of the Gurmukhi script at this sacred place, and established the first school of Gurmukhi. He also made arrangements  for publishing Sikh literature in the form  of Janam Sakhis, the history of Guru Nanak Dev ji. We should not ignore the importance of written words in human civilization. For a Sikh, the significance of written words is even more important as the hymns of Shabad are given the status of Guru in Sikhism.” He added, “Such publication projects are the need of the hour as it is good means of spreading Sikhism philosophy which is based on universality, and well being of mankind.”
