AMBALA, Haryana, India—Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, who recently broke his 44 day hunger strike, has stated that it is the responsibility of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to free the remaining Sikh political prisoners who are languishing in jails.

It should be remembered that Akal Takht Sahib appointed Jathedar had offered juice to Bhai Gurbaksh Singh, requesting him to break his hunger strike.

In a closed door meeting, the Jathedar had also expressed that he would work with other Sikh organizations to secure the release of Sikh political prisoners.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa told the press that the “battle was only half won” and that the freedom campaign would not be complete until the remaining two Sikhs were also released.  He had earlier also expressed that the Sikh Nation would work to seek release of all political prisoners who have completed their jail terms.
