NYPD Releases Video Of Suspects Who Allegedly Attacked Sikh Professor

NEW YORK—The NYPD has released a video of the suspects they believe were involved in a possible hate crime against a Columbia professor on Saturday night.

According to an NYPD spokeswoman, the clip shows the group of 12 to 15 suspects on bikes, ages 15 to 20, shortly before they encountered Dr. Prabhjot Singh, a Sikh, on West 110th Street near Lenox Avenue. Dr. Singh said that someone in the group shouted “Get Osama!” and then “Terrorists!” as they beat him and tugged at his beard.

He suffered a fractured jaw in Saturday’s attack, which is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force.
