AMRITSAR SAHIB—The construction work of the memorial commemorating Operation Blue Star martyrs has been completed in the Harmandir Sahib complex and inauguration ceremony was held yesterday.
A nagar kirtan was held and beginning of Akhand Path Sahib was followed by kirtan and katha by Bhai Randhir Singh Ji and Giani Mal Singh Ji, Head Granthi, apprising the sangat of the significance of the memorial.
Baba Harnam Singh (Damdami Taksal) who was assigned the duty of kar sewa said that the memorial was made from expensive white marble, and it stands next to Nishan Sahibs of Akal Takht Sahib. The memorial Gurdwara is spread over an area of 31&31 feet , is 8 cornered with 8 small domes resting on top. The biggest dome will be installed after the construction work of neigbouring Gurdwara Thara Sahib will be complete.
