‘SHAMED’ – Three Ex Mayors of Leamington Spa

LEAMINGTON SPA, Warwick, UK—Former Mayors of Leamington Spa, Mota Singh, Balvinder Gill and Balraj Dhesi have been found guilty in a High Court case along with Ranjit Hayer (the current Stage Sectary of Gurdwara Sahib Leamington & Warwick) and Shalvinder Mali in a defamation case filed against them. The five found guilty now face £250,000 legal costs bill.

After disrupting the Annual General Meeting of Gurdwara Sahib Leamington & Warwick in January 2010, the five named individuals went around spreading false propaganda through distributing leaflets with fabricated lies in April 2010. The fabricated lies included that the then Gurdwara Management Committee had intended to evict the elderly people from their current site within the Gurdwara complex site.

In 2009 the congregation appointed the new management committee of Gurdwara Sahib Leamington & Warwck. Their major tasks were to ensure completion of the new Gurdwara Sahib building and progression of the projects that were approved in the open meeting in March 2009. The new Gurdwara Sahib building opened in October 2009, which then meant the management committee could focus on the other agreed projects. These were, a separate sports centre and wedding hall, Gurdwara Sahib garden, additional car parking and a Sikh Heritage centre.

Despite their efforts, the five defendants named in the High Court case went on a crusade to disrupt the projects and cause trouble. In particular they demanded that the old Gurdwara building right next to the new Gurdwara building should be made into a booze hall for wedding parties and that a big wall should be built as a partition.  They were against the Sikh heritage centre being built, which many people believe is because the named individuals were influenced or are working for the Indian government and didn’t want Leamington Spa to become a hub for the propagation of the Sikh religion and Panthik activities.

Jagtar Singh Gill, Satnam Singh, Narinder Singh, Gumit Singh and Phulvinder Singh were forced to take legal action against the ‘Defendants’ after community tensions and divisions increased as a result of the false propaganda instigated and spread by the five Defendants.

Before the judgement was to be delivered, the Defendants accepted a settlement in January 2012 that the Claimants had made in November 2011. This involved them agreeing that they must never repeat the allegations they had made, agreeing to issue a joint statement, and to pay all the legal costs of the Claimants incurred up to 31st January 2012. Within 2 weeks of the claim being settled the Defendants paid £150,000 towards the Claimants’ costs. All of this money could have been used for the good of the Sikh community if the Defendants had not been so determined to pursue their campaign of lies, deceit and intimidation.

Panthik organisations outside Gurdwara Sahib Leamington & Warwick

In a statement, the Claimants said, “The biggest loss of following the Defendants publications is that the local Sikh community has been left divided and the projects such as the wedding hall & sports centre, the Gurdwara Sahib garden, the Sikh heritage centre may never be realised or at best have been severely delayed. This is a big loss to the Sikhs of Leamington & Warwick.”

  1. Sikh are jelous with sikh and are nosey. No Sikh person abuse other Sikh in the new temple. They acuse other Sikh people of being a thief when they don’t even know the person.Dr Singh wanted to evict the old boy’s and wanted to close down the building.dr Singh and his bro’s made the excuse that the Sikh buildings were used for eating meat and alcohol was consumed.Their is alot of arguments going in at the new Sikh temple.and alot of gossip and fighting going on.mr Bains was eaten up.and one Sikh bought a sword into the temple.

  2. Rajvir Sing and D Singh
Our Sikh Temples are not religious places but platforms for smuggling of drugs and humans where criminal control not decent humans. Sikhs kill Sikhs in Temples and harass hardworking and honest Sikh members. Where is Sikh media staff moral and integrity is lost? All Gurdwara management members are thugs and bringing SHAME to entire Sikh race and specific to non-politician dedicated hardworking Sikhs, who has faith on Gurus and want peaceful life and congregations. Even if you criticize management in democratic way they are rebutting like animals and have mentally retarded Sikhs (human animals) ready to insult in temples and management cover their Gunda’s ass with false witness and shamelessly sign and support with Gurdwara letterheads. All Sikh Gurdwaras Worldwide are suffocated with GANGS/GUNDAS, hence no one management member can claim better than other.

If we want to improve religion and regain Sikh community respect, we must force POLYGRAPH to verify integrity ( Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh and Hankar) before electing/nominating management members or continue raising finger on each other’s and keep fighting like cat and dogs for ever.

  3. The simple truth is this. they built a beautiful temple and some people there went on a power trip wanting to take control etc The old temple was fine peaceful and relaxing to prey the new one has become a house of gossip (but is sometimes ok) things you dont want to hear about problems between 2 different groups there, its such a shame because it really is a beautiful temple. and lastly they should have never put Jagtar singh Gill as the General Secretary from the start, how can you put a criminal family in charge of a holy place!

    • Rajvir – your response is pathetic, misleading, slanderous and full of the same accusations that this court case fought against. The fact is the power trip was launched by people with an anti-Sikh agenda who were envious of the success of this committee. Everything was running fine but the same people who originally opposed the new Gurdwara building in the first place felt marginalised by it’s success and basically wanted to take retake control. By joining forces these communists/Congress and other anti-Sikh bodies have misled and lied to the Sangat as highligted in this case. How in hell can you defend Mota Singh, Balwinder Gill, Balraj Dhesi, Ranjit Hayer and S Mali, these 5 have admitted to the lies and will have to fork out £250,000 plus of costs.

  4. If the defended have found guilty then the Gurdwara Committee shoud use the
money to finish Heritage and other projects with more ditermination.

One should not give up good work. I am sure warwick sikhs can get together
again. Indian Govt. and Branhmins agents , againts sikhs , are all
    around us.

Do not Give up the Right Cause.
