Sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib Near Amritsar Shocks Sikh Sangat

Satkar Committee Activists Questioning Paper Mill Worker

DALAM, Punjab—Sikhs in large numbers have come out to protest the horrendous beadbi incident of Guru Granth Sahib Ji that took place in the village of Dalam, 12 kilometers from Amritsar Sahib. The sacrilege was discovered by the Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Committee which has in the past uncovered many similar blasphemous acts. According to media reports by the Sikh Channel UK and Chardi Kala Time TV, angs of Guru Granth Sahib and other pothis and holy books were found in a ditch outside a paper mill. These saroops and pothis were found covered in dirt and trash.

Singhs in large numbers present outside the factory have also rounded up the SGPC bus drivers who are responsible for bringing angs of Guru Granth Sahib and pothis to the paper mill as waste.  The SGPC is trying to cover up the incident and is not cooperating with the Satkar Committee volunteers or the media.

It has also been revealed that Badal-appointed Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh (Akal Takht Sahib) visited the site during the incident but took no action.  Giani Gurbachan Singh visited the paper mill at the request of local Gursikhs of Dalam, but after witnessing the sacrilege, the Jathedar of the Sikh Panth and guardian of the Sikh rehat maryada returned home without following up at all.  The Satkar committee rounded up workers at the paper mill who detailed that the angs of Guru Granth Sahib Ji were brought as waste materials in a bus belonging to the SGPC.

In the past, the Satkar Committee has faced harsh consequences for preserving the respect and honour of Guru Granth Sahib. The SGPC, on the other hand, has continued to repress activists relating to the committee and their seva.  More details of the incident to be posted soon on Sikh24.com.

  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

    Respected Sad Sangat Ji ,

It is sad ,to hear about the news of such disrespect
of Gurbani . Gurbani is the life force of sikhs and needs to be given the utmost respect . What I have come to learn though is that in this case B Jawahar Singh Kirpal Singh & Co who are being named in this and whose Gurbani books have been found are completely innocent . Their books had been stolen by some person and who has allegedly shown such disrespect to Gurbani bring bad name to these innocent God fearing people . They have been serving the Sikh community for more than 100 years now and there is not even a remote possibility that they will do such a thing . This is something that has been done by some manmukhs who think that Waheguru is not watching . But Waheguru can see everything and will punish the guilty for sure .
