UK Sikh Organizations Take Strong Stand Against Culprit Pseudo-Baba

Following Eminent Organizations Such as Rara Sahib and Nihung Singh Jathebandis, UK Sikh Organizations Come out to Oppose Baba Mann Singh Pehowa Wala

DERBY, UK—The list of organizations opposed to the mis-parchar by Baba Mann Singh Pehowe Wala seems to be ever increasing.  Several UK based Sikh organizations have come out openly to oppose the UK tour by Baba Mann Singh.  According to members of Sikh organizations, only those individuals who adhere to the principles of Gurmat should be allowed to speak from Sikh stages.

In a press release, British Sikh Council and members of the Akhand Kirtani Jatha stated that Baba Mann Singh Pehowa, who is currently touring UK, has been accused of molesting Sikh women.  They asked Sikh Sangat from UK and Sikh media based across Britain to not provide any kind of support to this so-called preacher who is facing serious allegations.

The press release issued by British Sikh Council and Akhand Kirtani Jatha (UK) acknowledged that there has been a ban on programs by Baba Mann Singh Pehowa for the past several years in the USA and Canada.  A similar pattern has also been seen in other countries, such as Australia and France.  Baba Mann Singh’s attempts to hold programs in UK are also being protested by the Sikh masses.

The press release mentions that besides claims by several Sikh women of rape and molestation, Baba Mann is also guilty of other misconduct.  In Dubai about 15 years ago, during an amrit sanchaar, Baba Mann Singh once administered amrit by pouring it in a glass bottle.

Apart from Baba Mann Singh’s own Gurdwara in West Bromwich, no other Sikh Gurdwara or organization has provided any support to Baba Mann Singh.  Sangat TV, which at one time had opposed Baba Mann Singh and refused to advertise his programs in UK, is one of the only organizations providing support to this pseudo-parcharak.  Although other Sikh media outlets have refused to advertise Baba Mann Singh’s programs, Sangat TV is now going against its previous policy in which they refused to highlight his programs.

Apart from allowing Pehowe Wala’s programs, the Sangat TV has been accused recently of highlighting the name of other anti-Sikh elements.  Recent promotion of Naamdhari Raagis at Sangat TV has received the wrath of Sikh Sangat living in UK.  In 2000, Akal Takht Sahib issued a Hukamnama stating that Naamdharis do not have the privilege to do kirtan at Sikh Gurdwaras because they do not believe in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, instead they falsely claim their living “Guru” is the 15th incarnation of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
